The City

This experimental short film, created solely by me, explores the complex dualities of urban life through a found footage lens. The first half confronts the challenges cities face, like civil unrest, poverty, and gentrification, while the second half shifts to celebrate the vibrancy, diversity, and unique cultural wonders that cities offer. The project is composed primarily of archival footage sourced from free online repositories, with Archive.org serving as a key contributor. All visuals and audio are intentionally mismatched, creating a disjointed, dreamlike rhythm where no clip retains its original sound. Select shots were personally filmed by me to further emphasize specific themes. The film culminates with an original musical composition I created specifically for this piece, offering a reflective close to the narrative. It was publicly screened at Screen Door Cinema in Ybor City, Tampa.
