Only God Forgives

As an exercise in filmmaking practice, two collaborators and I recreated a scene from Only God Forgives (2013), focusing on replicating the film’s distinct visual style. I served as the Gaffer for the project, fully responsible for designing and executing the lighting setup. To achieve the desired look, I utilized a combination of lighting sources, including a GVM light kit, torpedo lights, and practical lighting elements within the scene. This project allowed me to explore how layered lighting setups can shape mood and atmosphere, and it provided valuable hands-on experience in matching the complex, stylized lighting found in professional cinema.
